Beyond IronGate, Ryan holds interests in wealth management companies through his family vehicle, Lowndes Square, a holding company focused on capital markets and wealth management. In a previous private equity roll-up strategy in the broker-dealer and RIA space, he founded Wentworth, a national broker-dealer aggregator, growing it 20x in five years before delivering a 16x MOIC exit. Ryan is currently an investor and on the board of ChemAM, a US-based chemical blending business based in Chicago, IL, that is executing a roll-up strategy in the US chemicals space. Ryan is a major investor and on the Board of Albers Aerospace and has assisted in all M&A across 14 transactions in the defense manufacturing space. Ryan is also a major investor and on the Board of Tampa Brass & Aluminum, an important casting and forging business for major missile platforms in the defense industrial base. 

Before founding Wentworth, Ryan worked as the Chief Investment Officer of two family offices, Oak Spring Holdings in NJ and Prime United in NYC. There, he invested family office capital and managed portfolios to exits for the liquidity needs of the families involved. From 2010-2014, Ryan made a tangential shift in his finance career, working abroad as a defense contractor, living mostly in Kabul, Afghanistan, on a series of government contracts. 

Earlier in his career, Ryan was a founding partner at Maroon Capital Group, a New York-based merchant bank with an investment focus across healthcare, energy, infrastructure, and technology, with significant dual-use and defense adjacency. From 2008 - 2010, Ryan restructured several billion dollars of commercial real estate loans in the US and Europe for banks, family offices, and private equity firms. He began his career at Morgan Stanley, underwriting principal investments across complex capital structures in the CMBS and private equity groups. 

Ryan serves on multiple portfolio company boards, and he holds a BS in Physics and Economics from the University of Chicago.
